Raga - Similar to "scale" in western music. Sitar - a 18 - 20-string instrument. Six to seven of the strings are tuned and placed above the frets. The others are sympathetic strings. Sympathetic strings: Strings that ring to certain pitches because of the properties of vibration. Tabla - set of two drums in Indian or Middle-Eastern music. |
